Every now and then, brides-to-be work themselves up to a distressed state, which is understandable considering the multitude of tasks one has to pull-off to achieve that dream wedding she has imagined all her life. This is where her bridesmaids can 'come to the rescue' so to speak. A 'shoulder to cry on' is a calming influence at such times.

To lessen the stress of wedding planning, bridesmaids can offer assistance in areas such
as :
- Shopping - help the bride source for wedding favours, décor items and the like.
- Recommendations - ask around for recommendations with regards to service providers and compile a list of contact details.
- Coordination - assist in coordinating, such as with the caterer, florist, entertainers, for instance.
- Seating - help in drawing up seating plans for the banquet.
