As part of the bridal party, bridesmaids take on a very important role during the wedding day. Other than assisting the bride with her attire, shoes, accessories, hair and makeup where necessary, they also act as a calming influence, minimising the jitters the bride may have on such a special day. Suffice to say, bridesmaids are a key component and in order to carry out their duties effectively, they should be dressed comfortably.

Essentially, a bridesmaid’s dress should be :

  • Simple and fuss free so as not to upstage the bride.
  • Easy to move in.
  • Lightweight and comfy.
  • Coordinated amongst the group.


Tip : Consider getting your bridesmaids’ dresses tailored as it is not that easy to find them off-the-rack.
