Wedding Inspirations

An array of invites to choose from

Many often say 'I kena saman' when a wedding invitation is received. I would like to believe that this is said in jest, as receiving an invitation to an occasion as meaningful as a wedding is indeed an honour, indicative of the special position you hold in the lives of the couple who will soon tie-the-knot.

Being the bearer of good news, invitations should be sent out as early as possible. While many of us Malaysians tend to leave things to the last minute, it is not wise to do so when it comes to writing and mailing invites. This is even more so the case, if your wedding is being held in the 'super-peak' wedding season, as your intended guests may receive more than one invitation for the date of your special day. Although many rely on the convenience of email nowadays, it is never the same as receiving a handwritten, painstakingly designed invite.

It is therefore pertinent, that the bride and groom place emphasis on designing an invitation right from the onset. If a particular invite from a friend made an impression, find out who the designer and printer was, and make an appointment for a discussion with the party concerned. A no obligation discussion costs nothing, except an hour or two of your time. Indeed, such a meeting would be a good way to find out more about the services offered - catalogue designs or custom-designs, for instance. Pricing, lead time and payment terms are also issues to bring up during this initial discussion. More importantly, such meetings are a means to develop some sort of personal relationship with the designer, a relationship which is essential in ensuring that you pull off your wedding with aplomb and style.
Tip : Why be a follower when you can be a leader - be creative with your invite!
