Many a wedding is celebrated with food and drink. And the more sophisticated crowd have been leaning towards serving wine at wedding banquets. Some hotels have even included wine in their banquet menus in all encompassing packages, such is its popularity.

When deciding on what wine to serve at your banquet, consider the following :

  • Budget. How much can you spend?
  • Guest list. Are they wine drinkers?
  • Volume. Are you serving wine from the cocktail hour or only after dinner commences?
  • Label. Which are your preferences?
  • Menu. Select wines that complement your menu.
  • Order. Is there a minimum buy? Is consignment possible?
