Some wedding planners in the market only offer full service packages whilst others also provide an option of different a la carte services. The latter in a way caters to couples who may not necessarily require a complete wedding planning service.

Couples who opt for a la carte services may do so because of one of the following :

• Insufficient budget to hire a planner for the long haul.
• Some areas of their plans may already be completed and finalised.
• They just want an extra helping hand to keep the stress at bay as the big day approaches.

Whichever route the groom-to-be and bride-to-be decide to take, it is necessary to do the following :

• Have indepth discussions with at least a few planners to gauge what’s available.
• Study portfolios of work.
• Establish a rapport and see who you get along with better.
• Go into detail with regards to scope of work.
• Agree on a price and sign a contract to secure their services.

Tip : Keep in regular touch with your wedding planner but do not harass them.
